The UHY Hacker Young academies team comprises a number a accountants, auditors and tax staff, all led by Chris Maylin, Tim Maris and Scott Rouse.
Client Engagement Partner
Chris’ clients benefit not only from his significant experience but also from his attitude and sense of humour. Chris is a governor at a local primary school although his external interests are primarily of a sporting nature. He is heavily involved in life at Hitchin Cricket Club and as a result has been achieved the England Cricket Board 2012 National Coach of the Year award.
Chris will act as the client engagement partner for your academy with overall responsibility for the work undertaken for you, and for the quality and consistency of our service.
Tim qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 while working for Grant Thornton in Bedford. He then went on to gain invaluable experience working in industry before returning to practice in 1997. He became a partner in the firm in 2000, and is one of the firm’s Senior Statutory Auditors. Tim has a mixed portfolio of businesses and organisations and enjoys providing business and tax planning advice to both corporate and personal clients. Having, until recently, acted as an accountant to a number of SSCO’s in the Hertfordshire area, Tim has gained a natural interest in acting for academies.
Scott will act as relationship manager for your academy, a role he fulfills for all of our academy clients.
Scott is an experienced manager with a diverse portfolio of clients who often comment not only his accounting ability but also the fact that he is always able to explain even complex matters in ways they understand. It could be said his knowledge of the education sector is “in the blood” as his father was a school bursar for a number of years.
